The Blacktown Show Presidents Message
The Show is an excellent opportunity to remind us of our agricultural heritage. Apart from all the traditional things one can expect to see at an Agricultural Show such as the Arts & Craft, Cooking, Needlework, Wood- chopping, Sheep Shearing, Blacksmithing, we are pleased to have John & Mary Jewell from Australian Living History who will be demonstrating Pole Lathe, Rope Making, Broom Making, Butter Making and many other Bush Crafts and Forgotten Trades.
The centre stage will be continuous over the two days of the Show with local dance schools, singing groups and back by popular demand, Elvis in Concert featuring David Cazalet.
Sunday will feature our Search for a Star Talent Quest which has produced a lot of fine talent who have moved onto very successful careers in the music industry and our Car Show & Ute Muster which is a must to be seen.
Lots of fun for the kids this year and apart from the Animal Farm Nursery, Reptile display, JD’S Magic Show and Professor Wallace’s Puppet Theatre, we have three Super Hero’s visiting the show – Batman, Spiderman and Bat Woman.
For Dad’s we have the Antique Machinery Display and Working Dog demonstrations and of course the Blacktown City Council’s Fireworks Spectacular on the Saturday night.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to members of my Show
Committee who spend many hours putting this Show together.
Have a great time at the Show.
Wilma Drower, President
